This is a special blog post! My most wonderful youngest sister Kaela and her boyfriend (now fiancé) Peter got engaged a couple of weekends ago! My little baby sister is all grown up and engaged!!! Crazy! Kaela and Peter met at Bucknell University six years ago and have been together ever since. Peter has felt like a part of our family for years now, but this weekend we were all so excited to know that he will now officially be a member of our crazy clan. Our entire family (as well as Peter’s) was in on the proposal and knew what was going to happen ahead of time. There was a lot of coordinating and effort put in by Peter to make sure we could all be at Bucknell after he proposed to celebrate together. (Way to go Peter!) He also called me ahead of time to see if I would be able to make it down a little early to take some secret photos of the proposal. Of course I was thrilled to be asked and it was actually really special to be able to watch my youngest sister say yes. (I got teary behind the lens when it was happening and again while going through and editing the photos… I’m a hopeless romantic, what can I say…) Kaela didn’t know I had been there with the camera until later at lunch so it was pretty fun to be able to surprise her. Here’s a few photos from the proposal. As you can see, Kaela was pretty surprised and both of them just look so incredibly happy. Congratulations to both of you!
